A family of six, including four children, has been hospitalized following a truck accident in Irvington on April 18. The family was driving east on Freeway Drive in an SUV, when it collided with a tractor-trailer that was making a left turn. The SUV ran off the road and over an embankment, landing on the side of a highway. “The SUV went up in the air, hung onto the gate for a few moments then it fell down,” witness Goswin Tyner told reporters from CBS 2 in New York. “It looked like a movie to me. A dump truck lost control and smashed into a tree after running off the road near Glen Gardner on April 8, according to New Jersey On-Line. New Jersey State Troopers responded to the scene at the intersection of Route 31 and Glen Gardner, where a white box truck was in the middle of the road, a pickup truck was next to it in the northbound lanes and the dump truck was off the road near the waterway. Officials were concerned with a potential contamination of the waterway and called the Hunterdon County Hazmat Unit to the scene. Hunterdon County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Brayden Fahey assured reporters that there was no contamination and no waste or oil from the truck. Responders placed booms in the stream to catch any hazardous materials as a precaution. The drivers of all three trucks were treated for minor injuries at the Hunterdon Medical…

A truck driver who was involved in a fatal accident in Easton, Massachusetts, will not face any criminal charges, according to The Enterprise. Alexandra Hamilton, 22, died after the 2003 Dodge Stratus she was driving collided with a tanker truck transporting fuel on March 22. Easton Police Chief Allen Krajcik announced that Massachusetts State Police would be taking over the investigation. Hamilton’s father is an Easton police officer, and the department wanted to avoid any potential conflict of interest in the investigation. The investigation is ongoing, but preliminary reports indicate that Hamilton crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the truck. “The truck driver does deserve credit for taking evasive action to avoid a head-on collision as it appears the Hamilton vehicle was in his lane,” Krajcik said. “We’re trying to determine how that came about, the reason for that.” There are multiple reasons a driver might cross the centerline,…
