A woman was killed in a New Jersey truck accident in West Babylon on August 24, according to sources.  The accident occurred on Sunrise Highway on a Wednesday afternoon, according to the Long Island Press. According to the Suffolk County Police, the woman was driving a Geo when she slowed down and was rear-ended by a commercial truck.  The driver of the truck was identified as 49-year-old Ramis Kirlangic.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as Miriam Ortiz. Residents in suburban Buffalo were ordered to evacuate after a gas line was ruptured following a truck accident on September 9.  According to The Wall Street Journal, the truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 90 at about 2:30 am when it sideswiped a pickup truck before veering across the median. Authorities were able to quickly shut down the gas line.  Residents in nearby Lancaster were evacuated as a precaution.  The driver is being treated in a nearby hospital. A truck accident involving another car on Interstate 80 on August 26 flipped on car into the opposite lane, according to LehighValleyLive.com.  The accident occurred in Allamuchy Township.  The driver of the car was identified as 24-year-old Valerie Thurnau, who was struck by a pickup truck as she was changing lanes, according to the New Jersey State Police. Thurnau lost control of her car, ran off the road and flipped over several times, landing in the oncoming lanes.  Luckily, she was safely removed from the vehicle before she was struck.  She was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where her injuries were said to be not life threatening.
