Four young New Jersey football players were killed in a tragic car accident on August 20, according to CityOfMoms.com. The community of Linwood is deeply saddened this week by the loss of the 4 teenagers. Four other teenagers were also injured in the accident. The driver—17-year-old Casey Brenner—lost control of his truck in heavy traffic near the Garden State Parkway area while on the way to a team organized meal. The truck rolled over several times, ejecting two of the passengers—one who was stuck by a passing car, according to Sgt. Julian Castellanos of the New Jersey State Police. According to WCAX News, a driver was killed after a tractor-trailer crashed into her car on Interstate 95 in Westchester County on August 16. According to police reports, two wheels flew off of the truck causing the accident. The victim has been identified as 62-year-old Adele Mancuso. Investigators told reporters that it seemed the truck lost its entire rear axle just prior to the commercial truck accident. The axle flew airborne for 100 yards before smashing into Mancuso’s windshield and roof. “The tractor-trailer lost the whole rear axle with two wheels attached,” Policeman Joseph Baccera said. “The entire axle compartment went airborne about 100 yards and crashed into the windshield and roof of the northbound vehicle.” The victim was killed instantly. New Jersey woman suffered serious injuries following a car accident on August 4, according to NorthJersey.com. Police identified the woman who was injured as Kuleena Kavunkal, 22, of Bogota. According to police reports, Kavunkal, who was driving a Toyota Celica, hit the back end of a tractor-trailer and became wedged underneath it on Route 80 shortly before 7 a.m. Lt. Stephen Jones also said that at some point the car hit a concrete barrier on the shoulder of the highway. Kavunkal was not conscious but was breathing after the accident and was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center. The truck driver—Randy Bartholomew, 42—was not injured. Witnesses said that Kavunkal merged into the back of the truck, and that the truck was not switching lanes. The accident remains under investigation.
